EPM Guatemala has released its 2022 Sustainability Report, marking the third consecutive year the company has published such a document. The report was prepared following the international standards of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and outlines EPM Guatemala’s economic, social, and environmental performance. It also details the company's efforts to support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with an emphasis on transparency and accountability to stakeholders.

The latest report covers various aspects of environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG). Topics include natural resource management, climate change actions, human rights, diversity, equality, inclusion initiatives, community relations, company structure, business ethics, anti-corruption measures, collective action strategies, transparency practices, and decision-making processes.

A notable addition this year is the inclusion of financial results linked to sustainability elements based on the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) framework for Electric Utilities & Power Generators. This allowed EPM Guatemala to add new components to its reporting process.

According to EPM Guatemala: "The preparation of this report allows us to be transparent and accountable to shareholders, customers, employees, suppliers, communities and the state. Building trust and creating strong and lasting relationships with each one of them."

To promote wider engagement with the report's findings, EPM Guatemala organized a video podcast featuring economist Enrique “Quique” Godoy. The event was streamed across several digital platforms including LinkedIn, YouTube, and Microsoft Teams with more than 900 simultaneous participants. The recording is available on EPM Guatemala’s YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f77br9YWxsg&t=2s.
