Officials from the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food (MAGA) in Zacapa are taking part in the Departmental Interinstitutional Technical Table on School Feeding. The group met to review progress made this year on initiatives that support the School Feeding Program (PAE).

Representatives from MAGA, the Ministry of Public Health and Social Assistance (MSPAS), the Secretariat for Food and Nutritional Security (SESAN), and the Departmental Directorate of Education (DIDEDUC) attended the meeting. Each institution shared updates on their work related to nutrition, local food production through educational gardens, food education, community management, and technical validation of school menus.

The session was held as part of a joint responsibility among institutions. Organizers said it reaffirmed their commitment to ongoing improvement of the program and readiness for validating departmental school menus.

"Ensuring that healthy, safe, and quality food reaches students is a priority," stated MAGA officials. "This meeting took place within the framework of interinstitutional co-responsibility, reaffirming our commitment to continuous improvement of the program and preparation for validation of Departmental School Menus."
