A recent health campaign took place in the El Zapote community, located in the municipality of Santa Ana, Petén. The event was organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food (MAGA) with the goal of improving both the health and productivity of local pig herds.
Staff from the Livestock Department within the Directorate for Agricultural Development (DAGRO), part of the Vice Ministry in Charge of Petén Affairs (VIPETÉN), administered vitamins and deworming treatments to 50 native pigs. This initiative directly benefited 25 rural families.
According to MAGA, these efforts are part of ongoing technical support aimed at enhancing livestock production conditions and contributing to food security for households in Petén.
