The Superintendency of Tax Administration (SAT) and the Guatemalan Tourism Institute (INGUAT) have signed an inter-institutional cooperation agreement aimed at modernizing customs processes and improving connectivity for tourists in Guatemala. The agreement allows both organizations to undertake activities within their areas of responsibility to promote domestic tourism, facilitate travel, distribute information about customs procedures for travelers and their luggage, and clarify tax obligations.

The plan also includes investments in facilities so that both institutions can provide better service to travelers at border points where entry and exit controls are carried out.
