Guatemala is taking part for the first time in the Arabian Travel Market, an international tourism event held from May 1 to 4 in the United Arab Emirates. The aim of this participation is to introduce Guatemala as a travel destination to new markets and promote its tourism offerings to potential buyers.
The Guatemalan delegation includes representatives from two businesses, Mayan Gateway and San Pedro Spanish School, as well as officials from the Instituto Guatemalteco de Turismo (INGUAT). The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also supported the effort through Guatemala’s embassy in the Middle East.
At the event, Guatemala’s stand offers international business partners a chance to learn about the country’s cultural and natural attractions. Activities at the stand include coffee tastings by Guatemalan Coffees with world champion barista Raúl Rodas, performances by INGUAT’s folkloric ballet, and appearances by artists Emilie Dubois and Guillermo Cantón.
"Arabian Travel Market is the leading international travel and tourism event that unlocks business potential within the Middle East for inbound and outbound tourism professionals. With participation from 52 countries, 300 exhibitors, and more than 7,000 professional visitors," according to organizers.
