Ministry holds workshop on food security and well-being for rural women in Alta Verapaz

The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food (MAGA) organized a workshop in Cobán, Alta Verapaz aimed at rural women farmers. The event was part of the Ministry’s efforts to promote comprehensive well-being and empowerment among women in the region.

The training focused on “Food security and emotional well-being” and included participants from the Chicuxab I Rural Learning Center (CADER). A total of 25 women attended, where they enhanced their knowledge and skills to improve nutrition, emotional health, and overall quality of life.

According to MAGA representatives, “With this type of activity, MAGA reaffirms its commitment to promoting women as one of the pillars of the community for development.”

The professionals from the Agriculture Ministry expressed appreciation for the active participation of those present. The attendees acknowledged the value of learning about topics that help create opportunities for personal, family, professional growth, and advancement as farmers.
