The Guatemalan Financial Support Trust for Coffee Producers has provided more than Q13.3 million in loans so far in 2025. The financing has been distributed to 18 small producers across the departments of Guatemala, Alta Verapaz, Jalapa, Chiquimula, Jutiapa, Santa Rosa, Zacapa, and Quetzaltenango.
This funding aims to help coffee growers maintain and improve their production activities and increase their competitiveness. Most recipients are small and medium-sized producers who use these loans to invest in their farms, upgrade processes, and address market challenges.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food (MAGA), "These actions reaffirm MAGA's commitment to the development of the coffee sector and contribute to facilitating access to productive infrastructure, innovation, technology and support services for production."
The trust is intended as a key financial tool for coffee farmers looking to strengthen their operations amid ongoing industry pressures.
