In El Tulate, San Andrés Villa Seca, Retalhuleu, technical staff from the Vice Ministry of Rural Economic Development (VIDER) of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food (MAGA), together with a private laboratory, organized a training session for 33 local producers. The focus was on plant nutrition and procedures for analyzing soil, water, and leaf tissue.
During the session, participants learned about the role of macro and micronutrients in plant development. They also received instruction on best practices for collecting, handling, and transporting samples to ensure reliable results.
The event included field exercises to assess soil fertility, nutrient availability, and the presence of potentially toxic elements. These activities aimed to strengthen technical skills necessary for better agronomic decision-making.
