María Fernanda Rivera Dávila, Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Food, attended the first National Meeting of Forestry Technicians organized by the National Institute of Forests (INAB) at the National Central School of Agriculture (ENCA). The event aimed to provide forestry technical staff with information about institutional objectives and updates on forest management topics and tools.

During her participation, Rivera Dávila presented the principles of the Keyline System. She explained that this approach focuses on soil recovery in forests by using natural land topography to redistribute rainwater, reduce erosion, increase water infiltration, recharge aquifers, and regenerate degraded soils.

Rivera Dávila addressed forestry technicians from across Guatemala as well as students from ENCA. She stated: "We reiterate our recognition of the effort made by technical staff who protect the country's natural resources every day. We also renew our commitment to comprehensive forest management that allows us to continue building well-being, development and a sustainable future for Guatemala."

The Ministry emphasized its ongoing support for integrated forest management practices.
