The Instituto Guatemalteco de Seguridad Social (IGSS) participated in the "Con Luz Propia" event for entrepreneurs held in Totonicapán. The gathering was organized by the Vice Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (Mipyme) of the Ministry of Economy.

During the event, IGSS provided information about company registration and its main programs: Disability, Old Age and Survivors (IVS), and Sickness, Maternity and Accidents (EMA). Staff from the Department of Employer and Worker Registration explained processes such as employer registration, use of the Affiliate Portal, and other tools that allow people to handle documents remotely.

More than 70 local entrepreneurs attended, offering products including bags, coats, handmade chocolate, jewelry, and more. According to the Ministry of Economy, "the Encounter with Entrepreneurs 'Con Luz Propia' seeks to facilitate business formalization processes in a single space, promote the benefits of business formalization and encourage legality."

IGSS staff also discussed how their programs support business owners. The Sub-management for Cash Benefits gave details on IVS program advantages. Alongside this department’s Money Benefits team, they shared information about EMA program services and suspension subsidies.

Another service highlighted was IGSS's Company Clinic Care System. This system brings social prevention measures as well as primary medical care directly to workplaces. It aims to speed up administrative procedures while reducing absenteeism among employees.
