Producers from the villages of Sacpuy and La Juventud in San Andrés, Petén, have received five ICTA Ligero bean projects and technological packages. This effort is part of initiatives led by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food (MAGA) to boost agricultural productivity and encourage sustainable practices.
The distribution was organized by staff from the Directorate of Agricultural Development (DAGRO) under the Deputy Ministry for Petén Affairs (VIPETÉN). In addition to distributing materials, technical advice and training on proper crop management were provided.
During training sessions, officials emphasized the importance of using certified seeds and applying technologies that make better use of agricultural resources.
According to MAGA, "This initiative aims to strengthen food security and promote comprehensive rural development in the region, directly benefiting producer families working to improve their farming systems."
