CORPORATION MULTI INVERSIONES: Gold Fork Award of the Food Fair recognizes Isabel Gutiérrez De Bosch as Person of the Year

Corporacion Multi Inversiones issued the following announcement on Sept. 16.

Doña Isabel Gutiérrez, president of the Juan Bautista Gutiérrez Foundation, was recognized with the Gold Fork Award as Person of the Year, for her outstanding humanitarian work. The tribute was made within the framework of the inauguration of the Food Fair 2019, specialized event for the Food and Beverage industry, in Guatemala.

The vocation of Mrs. Isabel to serve the most needy and social service, began at a very early age, next to her father, Juan Bautista Gutiérrez. As executive secretary of Molino Excélsior in Quetzaltenango, she participated in the food and beverage industry, and supported, together with her father, Rotary projects and Spanish Beneficence.

Subsequently, Isabel Gutiérrez de Bosch led the constitution of the Juan Bautista Gutiérrez Foundation, social arm of CMI, Multi Investment Corporation, in 1985. The foundation works to maintain the ideals of solidarity and service to the community with which Juan Bautista Gutiérrez lived and formalizes the charitable projects of the Bosch Gutiérrez and Gutiérrez Mayorga families. Through it, the education and health programs of each of the companies of the corporation are channeled and centralized.

As president of the Juan Bautista Gutiérrez Foundation since 1986, Ms. Isabel leads the projects, among which the University Scholarship Program, My Health Program. My Responsibility and the Community Nutrition and Entrepreneurship Program stand out. “At the Juan Bautista Gutiérrez Foundation, we believe that if we impact communities, we can change the country and that is why we work so that children and women have access to education, and empower themselves to be agents of change in their communities,” said Isabel. Throughout her extensive career, Mrs. Isabel, has received a series of awards and recognitions for her hard work in the field of charity, among which we can mention the recognition "Paul Harris" of Rotary International in 1990, the Order Dolores Bedoya de Molina in Gran Collar grade delivered in 1993 and the “Exalting Our Values” recognition of the Industrial Bank in 1995. He also received the Quetzal order, in Grand Officer degree in 2012 and three years later, he received recognition Special by Rotary International for its Rotary Service in the celebration of Rotary's 90 years in Central America.

The Gold Fork Award, delivered for the tenth second edition, is an event that highlights the outstanding work of restaurants, chefs, and professionals who make a difference in the Food and Beverage industry. The awards are granted by the Organizing Committee of the Food Fair, composed of the Chamber of Industry of Guatemala, Guatemalan Institute of Tourism, Restaurant Guild, Technical Institute of Training and Productivity –INTECAP-, Rotary Club Guatemala del Este, National Coffee Association –ANACAFÉ- and Rafael Landívar University.
