Guatemala's Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Food, María Fernanda Rivera Dávila, met with officials from the Official College of Veterinarians of Madrid to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation in animal health, food safety, and veterinary training.
On October 22, Rivera Dávila held talks with Felipe Vilas Herranz, president of the college, and Lázaro López Jurado, secretary. The meeting focused on enhancing collaboration in animal health and livestock welfare through technical exchanges and professional training.
The discussions also addressed topics such as sanitary control measures, livestock traceability systems, and specialized veterinary education. Both parties agreed to move forward with joint projects involving scientific and technical advisory services.
During her visit, Rivera Dávila toured the college's facilities and was presented with the institution’s insignia as a symbol of the ongoing institutional relationship between Guatemala and Madrid in the veterinary field.
