A group of fourth-semester students from the National Central School of Agriculture (ENCA), which works closely with the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food (MAGA), participated in an academic visit to La Montañita Farm in San Agustín Acasaguastlán, El Progreso.
The activity was part of the practical development for several courses, including Principles of Genetic Improvement, Wood Technology, Hydrology, Principles of Cartography, Business Management, and Non-Timber Forest Products.
During the visit, students completed a Land Use Capacity Study at the farm with support from the National Institute of Forests (INAB).
"This experience allows future forestry professionals to integrate theory with practice, strengthening their technical training and contextual understanding in various forest environments in the country," according to ENCA.
The technical visit reflects ENCA's commitment to preparing professionals equipped to address challenges within Guatemala's forestry sector.
