Francisco Marroquín University concludes Family Business minor with international faculty

The Family Business minor at Francisco Marroquín University's Business School was held from April 10 to October 31, 2025. The program featured international faculty and covered a range of topics relevant to family-run enterprises.

The curriculum included several modules led by different instructors. Claudia Binz Astrachan and Joseph Astrachan taught the Introduction to Family Business module. Rania Labaki and Martin Euwema led the Communication and Conflict module. Ana González directed the Strategy module, while Miguel Méndez was responsible for Governance.

Other modules included Innovation, conducted by Matthias Waldkirch; Succession, led by Isabel Botero; Wealth, Ownership and Family Offices, overseen by Salvatore Tomaselli; and the final module Synthesis, Recap, and Outlook, directed by Santiago Perry.

According to the university, "the minor in Family Business at UFM's Business School is designed to help participants take advantage of opportunities and face the challenges of running a family business, ensuring its long-term success."

The program covers various aspects such as conflict management, governance, succession planning, strategy development, ownership structures, and family offices. Faculty members guide students through each module to help them define their goals and plan how to achieve them.
