A regional operation targeting illicit trade was carried out with the aim of enhancing cooperation and creating mechanisms for interagency and regional coordination. The goal was to identify and manage high-risk operations, increasing the efficiency of Customs Services in preventing and combating illicit trade and tax fraud.

The customs offices involved in the operation included Pedro de Alvarado, Valle Nuevo, San Cristóbal, Puesto Fronterizo Integrado Agua Caliente, and Puesto Fronterizo Integrado El Florido.

Key actions by participating institutions focused on strengthening interagency efforts against illicit trade and tax fraud at customs posts and border areas. Authorities verified compliance with laws, procedures, and regulations, checked product traceability, and worked to improve communication and coordination among the participating countries.

According to officials, results from the operation included the seizure of smuggled goods such as sportswear, athletic shoes, and women's sandals. Authorities also apprehended a person suspected of vehicle theft, recovered a stolen truck trailer, made value adjustments on seized goods at customs posts, and identified individuals with irregular migration status.
