The Escuela Nacional Central de Agricultura (ENCA) has been selected by the International Regional Organization for Plant and Animal Health (OIRSA) to host the official ceremony marking 72 years since the declaration of the Regional Day of Agricultural Health, observed annually on October 29.
The event will take place on November 12 and is expected to bring together officials from the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food (MAGA), ENCA students, university representatives, private sector delegates, diplomatic missions, and international organizations.
For the first time, this commemoration will be held outdoors in a field day format. The event aims to highlight the importance of joint actions that ensure agricultural health across Mexico, Central America, and the Dominican Republic.
According to OIRSA, it is a strategic partner for MAGA in matters related to agricultural health. "This meeting represents a key opportunity to reaffirm regional commitment to health, sustainability and agricultural competitiveness—fundamental pillars for rural development and food security in the region," said OIRSA representatives.
