The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food (MAGA), through the Municipal Rural Extension Agency (AMER) in Fraijanes, Guatemala, organized an educational event to mark World Food Day.

The event was held with members of the Municipal Commission for Food and Nutritional Security. MAGA staff, with support from the local municipality, prepared a bean ceviche with Protemás, served with cucumber juice containing chia and lemon.

The purpose of the activity was to encourage communities to think about their eating habits, promote the consumption of healthy and natural foods, appreciate local products, and prioritize fruits and vegetables in their diets.

Participants also had the opportunity to taste a dessert made from soy milk. Around 120 adults and children from the area took part in the event.

"With these actions, AMER Fraijanes and local authorities reaffirm their commitment to continue working for the food and nutritional security of communities," organizers stated.
