The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food (MAGA), through the Vice Ministry of Rural Economic Development (VIDER), has continued its outreach to livestock producers in Jalapa. The initiative involved technical experts providing training on the role of minerals in cattle nutrition to producers from Monjas, San Pedro Pinula, and San Luis Jilotepeque.

The sessions included 40 participants who discussed their experiences, clarified questions, and learned about the importance of mineral supplementation for improving animal strength, reproduction rates, and resilience during dry periods. Key topics covered were the significance of minerals in cattle diets, proper methods for administering supplements, and their impact on herd health and productivity.

Each participant received a 25-kilogram sack of mineral salts to support practical application of the knowledge gained during training. According to MAGA, these actions aim to build a more productive and healthy livestock sector by working directly with local producers.

"With these actions, MAGA works in the territory together with producers to build a more productive and healthy livestock industry," stated the ministry.
