On October 23, 2025, Venezuelan lawyer, journalist, and writer Emmanuel Rincón visited Francisco Marroquín University (UFM). He was accompanied by Alejandra Martínez Cánchica, a historian and political analyst.
Rincón is recognized for his critical perspective on the situation in Venezuela. He has received international literary awards and authored novels such as "Wolf" and "La trivialidad del mal," which depict daily life in Venezuela. His essays include "El decálogo del hombre igualitario," a dystopian work set in a totalitarian United States where progressivism threatens freedom, as well as titles like "Westernism," "El hombre jugando a ser Dios," and "La reinvención ideológica de América Latina."
He is also the founder of Regional Renaissance Consulting, an organization focused on developing political narratives across the Americas. In addition to serving as editor-in-chief at República USA and Informe Orwell, Rincón contributes to various media outlets including El American, PanAm Post, The Epoch Times, American Institute for Economic Research, and El Nacional.
During their visit to UFM, Rincón and Martínez Cánchica toured several campus sites: the Atlas Libertás sculpture, an exhibition on private money at the School of Business building, the special collections room at Ludwig von Mises Library, and the Popol Vuh Museum.
According to the university's statement: “His visit sparked ongoing conversations about freedom, critical thinking, and the power of ideas in confronting authority.”
