Ministerio de Cultura y Deportes highlights free cultural performances in Escuintla

The Ministerio de Cultura y Deportes de Guatemala has announced the inauguration of a cultural event at the Centro Cultural de Escuintla, highlighting national scenic talent and offering free performances to the public. The announcement was made through a series of posts on November 15, 2025.

According to the ministry's official account, "El acto contó con la presencia de Rodrigo Carrillo, viceministro de Cultura; Lucía Armas, directora de Difusión Cultural; y Marco Tulio Ramírez, director del Centro Cultural de Escuintla. El viceministro Carrillo destacó esta muestra como “un compromiso de arte y comunicación”. This post emphasized the attendance of key cultural figures at the opening ceremony and highlighted Vice Minister Carrillo’s remarks on art and communication.

Another post published on November 15 stated, "La velada inaugural celebró el talento escénico nacional con la participación del Grupo Chumil Polaris de Huehuetenango, ganadores del galardón a Mejor Montaje en la edición 2024, y del Grupo Itzcuintlan, representante del departamento anfitrión." The message recognized both the award-winning Group Chumil Polaris from Huehuetenango and local representatives Group Itzcuintlan.

The ministry also invited the public to attend free events: "Del 14 al 22 de noviembre, te invitamos a disfrutar de funciones gratuitas a partir de las 17:00 horas en el Centro Cultural de Escuintla. Entrada libre."
