The Ministerio de Cultura y Deportes de Guatemala shared updates on cultural events and expressed condolences for the loss of a staff member in a series of posts published on November 9, 2025. The ministry highlighted international musical collaborations and acknowledged the passing of an employee at a major cultural center.

In one post dated November 9, 2025, the ministry described a performance by young musicians from Guatemala and Spain: "Con un repertorio que incluyó temas de películas, Bach, Mozart y Vivaldi, la Orquesta Nacional de Artistas en Formación (ONAF), junto a integrantes de la Joven Orquesta Nacional de España (JONDE), cautivaron al público, realzando la música de cámara."

A separate message posted the same day detailed another aspect of this event: "#Sacatepéquez | El talento juvenil se vivió con el concierto de culminación del Encuentro Internacional Coral y Orquestal 2025 que reunió a artistas en formación de Guatemala y España en el Centro de Formación de la Cooperación Española en La Antigua Guatemala." This gathering brought together developing artists from both countries for a final concert at the Spanish Cooperation Training Center in La Antigua Guatemala.

Later that evening, the ministry announced the death of Henry David López Reyes, an employee at the Centro Cultural "Miguel Ángel Asturias": "Lamentamos profundamente el sensible fallecimiento de Henry David López Reyes, trabajador del Centro Cultural 'Miguel Ángel Asturias'. Expresamos nuestras condolencias y nos solidarizamos con su familia en estos momentos."

The Centro Cultural "Miguel Ángel Asturias," named after Guatemalan Nobel laureate Miguel Ángel Asturias, serves as an important venue for cultural activities in Guatemala City. The ministry regularly promotes national and international artistic exchanges as part of its mission to support culture and youth development.
