In remote areas far from urban centers, Energuate has been working to provide electricity to rural households in Guatemala. The company reports that its teams have connected more than 1,250 homes, allowing families to use electric lighting, refrigerate food, communicate with relatives, and start small businesses. According to Energuate, this access to electricity is bringing new opportunities for the future of these communities.
The rural electrification projects are funded by Energuate itself and have benefited over 7,500 people in locations such as San Pedro Carchá in Alta Verapaz and Chiantla in Huehuetenango.
"Guided by our purpose of creating connections that transform lives, the rural electrification program not only delivers energy: it lights paths of development, opens opportunities and confirms that progress begins with electric power," the company stated.
