The Ministerio de Cultura y Deportes de Guatemala has announced the inauguration of the Bienal de Arte Paiz, according to a series of posts on its official X account. The event will feature participation from high-level officials and aims to bring together artists from around the world.
In a post dated November 6, 2025, the Ministry stated: "En la inauguración también estuvo presente la viceministra de Patrimonio, Laura Cotí Lux y el viceministro de Cultura, Rodrigo Carrillo." Another post on the same day detailed the event's schedule and curatorial leadership: "La Bienal de Arte Paiz dará inicio desde este jueves 6 de noviembre y culminará el 15 de febrero de 2026, bajo el título de “El Árbol del Mundo” y contará con la curaduría del italiano, Eugenio Viola."
A third message posted by the Ministry added information about the venues and participating artists: "Las exposiciones se llevarán a cabo en 10 sedes ubicadas en la Ciudad de Guatemala y en Antigua Guatemala, y reunirán a 46 artistas de 30 países de los cinco continentes. #ElPuebloDignoEsPrimero"
The Bienal de Arte Paiz is recognized as one of Central America's most significant contemporary art events. Its editions typically gather both local and international artists for exhibitions in various cultural venues across Guatemala City and Antigua Guatemala.
