CMI receives recognition for its trajectory as a multilatina family business

The Argentine Institute of Family Business (IADEF) and the Latin American Institute of Family Business (ILAEF) recognized CMI- Corporación Multi Inversiones for its Business Path and Corporate Governance. The recognition is part of the IADEF & ILAEF 2020 Awards in its eighth edition, held within the framework of the International Day of Family Business, a date that seeks to recognize the role of family businesses as a socio-economic pillar.

The Argentine Institute of Family Business (IADEF) was founded in 2010 in the city of Buenos Aires, as a non-profit civil association committed to the Argentine Family Business that generates wealth, employment and culture in society. As Protective Partner, IADEF, created in 2013 the Latin American Institute of Family Business (ILAEF). Since that date, each year both entities seek to recognize the importance of family businesses both in Argentina and at the regional level, distinguishing Family Businesses, Institutions and Academics who make contributions to society through their professionalization, innovation and social responsibility.

CMI, is a multilatina family corporation of Central American origin founded by Juan Bautista Gutiérrez. The history of its origins dates back to 1920, with a small family shop located in San Cristóbal, Totonicapán in Guatemala. Today, it has become a group with a presence in more than 14 countries on two continents, a generator of investment, development and employment, with more than 40,000 thousand employees.
