The CMI Alimentos biscuit plant in Guatemala, which produces leading brands and favorites of Guatemalans such as Gama, Can Can, Club Max, among others, received an outstanding rating in the Sedex Members' Ethical Trade Audit, (SMETA, by its acronym in English).
The SMETA audit covers all aspects of responsible business practice, covering four areas of Work, Health and Safety, Environment and Business Ethics. The result of the audit was "Outstanding" in each of the aspects evaluated.
This achievement joins that of the INA Pastas plant in Guatemala, which a few months ago also received an outstanding rating in the SMETA audit, a sign of CMI Alimentos' commitment as a corporation to achieve sustainable development. “At CMI we seek to do business in an ethical and responsible manner, always seeking a positive impact for the communities where we operate, for our clients and collaborators. For this reason, the SMETA audit is a tool that allows us to evaluate our internal processes and verify our operation ”, expressed Eduardo Romero, General Director of the Food and Consumption Business Unit.
At CMI's biscuit plant in Guatemala, leading brands are produced that are favorites of Guatemalans and that have the highest production and quality standards. “Our operation is governed by CMI's corporate values, on which we act every day: being responsible, seeking excellence, being upright and respecting people and the way of doing business, that is why we are proud to successfully overcome this audit, a reflection of our commitment to have a lively and solid business culture, ”Romero concluded.
