Corporacion Multi Inversiones issued the following announcement on Aug. 13.

Forbes Central America magazine released the list of the 100 Most Powerful Women of 2020 in Central America and the Dominican Republic, which recognizes those who, from their work in different industries and disciplines, stand out for their work for the benefit of Guatemala and verify that they always you can go further.

In the list, which mentions 16 Guatemalan women, the work of Isabel Gutiérrez de Bosch is recognized for her contribution to education in Guatemala. Forbes magazine highlights her humanitarian work as president of the Juan Bautista Gutiérrez Foundation and also since its homonymous foundation, which focuses on improving the lives of early childhood in marginalized communities.

From an early age, next to her father, Juan Bautista Gutiérrez, Mrs. Isabel participated in Rotary projects and in the Spanish Charity. Later, he promoted the formalization of the Fundación Juan Bautista Gutiérrez, the social arm of CMI - Corporación Multi Inversiones- in 1985. As its president, he works to maintain the ideals of solidarity and service to the community with which his father, Don Juan Bautista, lived. Gutiérrez and formalize the charitable projects of the Bosch Gutiérrez and Gutiérrez Mayorga families.

The programs of the Juan Bautista Gutiérrez Foundation stand out for their contribution to education and work in the areas of health and nutrition in Guatemala. "We invested in education, because without education we would not have a beautiful Guatemala", with this phrase from Doña Isabel, Forbes magazine highlights the relevance and commitment it has for education in the country.

This is how one of the flagship projects at the Juan Bautista Gutiérrez Foundation is focused on providing higher education opportunities to young Guatemalans. This is the University Scholarship Program, which this year celebrates its twenty-first edition, recognized as one of the most complete in its category, since it covers 100% of the academic expenses of students, during the years of their degree and provides comprehensive accompaniment, so that young people study in the best private universities in Guatemala. To date, the program has 137 young people who are completing their university studies and 137 more who are already professionals, and are part of the best multinational and national companies in the country.

Born in San Cristóbal, Totonicapán, Doña Isabel has dedicated herself to helping to improve the living conditions of the community. This is how the Nutrition and Community Entrepreneurship Program was created at the Juan Bautista Gutiérrez Foundation, which is developed in the municipality of San Cristóbal in Totonicapán and in 2019 held the training of more than 800 women in new practices in Preventive Health and Food. In addition, thanks to the work with mothers of families, it managed to reduce the incidence of chronic malnutrition in boys and girls from 0 to 12 months of age by 46%.

Doña Isabel or Doña Isa, as those who know her tend to affectionately call her, received the Golden Fork Award as Person of the Year in 2019, for her outstanding humanitarian work, within the framework of the Food Fair in Guatemala. Throughout her career, she has also received other recognition and awards, for her commitment in the field of charity. For example, the “Paul Harris” award from Rotary International in 1990, the Dolores Bedoya de Molina Order in Grand Collar degree awarded in 1993, and the “Exalting Our Values” award from the Industrial Bank in 1995.
