Corporacion Multi Inversiones issued the following announcement on Aug. 7.
The Renace Hydroelectric Complex is located in the municipality of San Pedro Carchá, Alta Verapaz; and generates clean electricity thanks to the Cahabón river flow, one of the most important tributaries of Guatemala. In addition, it is in contact with 33 communities in the area, with which it has built agreements and mechanisms for improvement as a whole, whose impact has been direct in improving social indicators.
Renace believes in the development of San Pedro Carchá and supports the creation of conditions that activate the local economy through productive and entrepreneurial programs. For the proper functioning of these programs, the construction of community infrastructure and the maintenance of rural roads has been promoted.
Providing communities with infrastructure seeks to serve basic services and support the country agenda in order to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
To date, more than 50 infrastructure projects have been completed; between schools, community halls, school kitchens, water supplies and other renovation projects that impact the daily lives of neighboring families. With the maintenance of community roads, different types of vehicles can now be entered that facilitate access to the urban area, allowing the crops to be transported in less time and that people can receive immediate medical attention.
These infrastructure projects have been defined together with the community leaders, who have joined Renace for its construction and maintenance. These actions ensure the development, competitiveness of the municipality and long-term sustainability.
