Corporacion Multi Inversiones issued the following announcement on Dec. 6.

Corporación Multi Inversiones (CMI) launched the Open Mind program in El Salvador in June, through its Pollo Campero brand. CMI has developed open innovation programs in other countries, this being the first program developed in El Salvador.

These efforts are made to contribute to the development of ecosystems that foster creativity and innovation in the countries of the region, contributing to economic development.

With the help of JOVEN360, the leading regional company in the employability of young people, the process of convening and capturing the ideas that solve a challenge was managed through a digital platform. After a process of analyzing the proposals, the most innovative ideas with the potential to develop concepts were selected.

The international firm Ernst & Young was an important partner in the process, providing high-level tools to university students to develop their ideas until they reach a proposal. Combined with the direct work with Executives of Pollo Campero El Salvador, the young people developed 5 functional business models.

After 6 months of the launch, final models were presented to top local and regional executives to select the winners. The teams that submitted their proposals are made up of young people from various professional disciplines, from different universities and academic levels, as well as entrepreneurs who responded to the call.

The best two proposals were awarded. The second place was recognized with a prize of USD $ 1,000 for the members of the Proach Tech Squad team, while the first place was received by the Force and Mind team, with a prize of USD $ 3,000. The winning projects will be validated for execution in Pollo Campero.

CMI reaffirms its commitment to innovation by promoting open innovation methodology as a strategy to expand the knowledge and capabilities of the company. The cooperation between organizations, higher education entities, internal and external professionals allows to find new initiatives and develop them in a different way, from the outside inwards.
