Corporacion Multi Inversiones recently issued the following announcement.
The Juan Bautista Gutiérrez Foundation, the social arm of CMI, Corporación Multi Inversiones, made the official delivery of 33 full scholarships to Guatemalan youth who will complete their university studies in the best private universities in the country.
The purpose of the program is to offer the opportunity to young people of high academic level and limited economic resources, to opt for a scholarship to pursue their higher education. It covers 100% of the academic costs: tuition and tuition, fee for books, monthly allowance for personal expenses, reinforcement in English and residence for students who come from the interior of the country.
" Our goal is to support talented young people who only need an opportunity to make their great dreams and desires come true, since we are inspired by their willingness and preparation to work to make them come true. In the 19 years that this program has been carried out, we have found very intelligent young people with many values, and we have proudly seen them become competent professionals who love Guatemala, and work to make a positive change in the country. " , said Isabel Gutierrez de Bosch, President of Fundacion Juan Bautista Gutierrez.
Each of the selected scholarships stands out for its academic excellence, effort and dedication. The careers they will study are mainly focused on Engineering, as well as innovative careers such as Industrial Biotechnology Engineering, Bachelor of International Marketing and Business Analytics and Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering, among others. The young people come from different educational establishments of the middle level both in the capital and in the departments of Alta Verapaz, El Progreso, Izabal and Sacatepéquez.
To be creditors of the scholarship, applicants had to meet certain requirements such as being in the last year of diversification at the time of application, have a minimum average of 85 points in the third basic and each year of diversification, and have the need to economic support to carry out their university studies.
The program of the Juan Bautista Gutiérrez Foundation has a complete and meticulous process of convocation, evaluation and selection. This year, we had a total of 2,999 visits to the system, of which 509 young people completed the application and initiated the process. In the next phase, 253 conducted academic tests in the areas of mathematics and verbal; and based on the results, 60 young people classified for specific tests of general aptitudes, study habits, personal values and professional interests and psychological interview. Subsequently, the socio-economic study of 48 was carried out, resulting in 33 young people who have been favored with the university scholarship.
Since its inception in 2002, the University Scholarship program of the Juan Bautista Gutiérrez Foundation has awarded scholarships to 210 young people, of whom 99 are already graduated professionals and to date 111 young people are studying. For the first time 3 of the 33 scholarships are delivered in Alliance with Supermarkets La Torre. Among the major achievements of the program, it is worth noting that all the scholars have graduated with honors and academic averages above 85 points, with high academic performance and professional skills, characteristic of all the young people who are part of this project.
