Authorities and representatives from several institutions met with the Tropical Agricultural Research and Higher Education Center (CATIE) to discuss ways to strengthen the Agroclimatic Technical Tables (MTA). These tables are important forums for analyzing and sharing climate information with agricultural producers.
During the meeting, participants developed a roadmap aimed at improving the MTAs. They also identified opportunities to enhance how agroclimatic bulletins are created and distributed. These bulletins help guide farmers as they face challenges brought by climate variability and change.
The session included José Antonio López, Deputy Minister of VIDER, along with members of the National Coordination Committee of the MTAs. This committee includes officials from the Directorate of Regional Coordination and Rural Extension (DICORER), the Climate Change Unit of MAGA, and CATIE representatives.
“These actions reinforce the inter-institutional commitment to provide timely and reliable information to the productive sector, contributing to more sustainable and resilient agriculture,” according to those involved in the meeting.
