MAGA Guatemala, the official account of Guatemala's Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food (Ministerio de Agricultura, Ganadería y Alimentación), published a series of statements on October 21, 2025, highlighting the country’s efforts to strengthen food safety and agricultural health in collaboration with El Salvador.

This message underscores the non-negotiable nature of food safety as a shared responsibility for family well-being.

#ElPuebloDignoEsPrimero

Guatemala’s Ministry of Agriculture has played an active role in promoting food safety and sanitary standards within Central America. The Codex Alimentarius is a collection of internationally recognized standards and guidelines intended to protect consumer health and ensure fair practices in the food trade. Regional collaboration between countries such as Guatemala and El Salvador aims to improve competitiveness and sustainability in agriculture by adhering to these global benchmarks.
