The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Guatemala (MINEX Guatemala) recently posted a series of updates on its official X account, addressing consular activities in the United States and diplomatic relations with Oman.
On November 17, 2025, MINEX Guatemala highlighted the efforts of its Houston-based consulate through a mobile initiative in Louisiana. The ministry stated, "#GuatemalaCercaDeTi | El @ConsGtHoustonTx llevó a cabo su #ConsuladoMóvilGT en la ciudad de Harvey, Luisiana, donde se brindaron servicios de documentación consular, registro civil y protección a la comunidad guatemalteca. Con esta jornada, el Consulado reafirmó su compromiso".
Later that day, the ministry informed Guatemalans living in the United States about the availability and purpose of the Guatemalan Consular Identification Card (TICG). According to their post from November 17, "#GuatemalaCercaDeTi | La Tarjeta de Identificación Consular Guatemalteca (TICG) es un documento que te respalda mientras vives en Estados Unidos, certificando tu identidad y domicilio. Además, se emite en español e inglés, para facilitar tus gestiones. Para solicitarla en tu".
On November 18, 2025, MINEX Guatemala acknowledged Oman’s national celebration with an official greeting: " | Guatemala saluda y felicita al Pueblo y Gobierno de #Omán en ocasión de su Día Nacional. #RelacionesConElMundo".
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is responsible for coordinating international relations and providing services to Guatemalans abroad. Through mobile consulates and documentation initiatives like the TICG card—which offers identity verification in both Spanish and English—the ministry aims to support citizens living overseas and facilitate their access to essential services.
