In another post published at the same time, the ministry provided further details about rehabilitation efforts: " @COVIAL_CIV trabaja para recuperar ruta alterna entre Tecpán y Quiché
According to this statement, COVIAL—the agency overseeing road maintenance—is reconstructing a severely damaged segment between Tecpán and Quiché using cement treatment before applying a new asphalt layer designed for greater durability.
Later that evening, on November 19, 2025, the ministry also reported progress in digital services through its Directorate General of Transport (DGT).
This update outlined achievements such as processing over thirteen thousand online requests and introducing services like QR code-enabled license renewals and express permits.
These announcements come as part of broader efforts by Guatemalan authorities to improve both physical infrastructure—especially in regions like Quiché—and administrative efficiency through digitalization initiatives. The projects are aligned with national strategies aimed at modernizing transportation networks and public service delivery.
