The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food (MAGA) and the National Forestry Institute (INAB) have signed a cooperation agreement as part of the Sustainable Forest Management Project under the Forest Investment Program (FIP), which is supported by the Inter-American Development Bank.

The agreement aims to strengthen sustainable management of forest resources, encourage the inclusion of producers in forestry incentive programs, and promote responsible use of forests. It is expected to contribute directly to rural development and improve the well-being of producer families.

During the signing event, Minister María Fernanda Rivera emphasized the importance of collaboration between agricultural sector institutions. "This agreement will allow us to strengthen joint action in the territory, bringing more opportunities to families who live off the land," she said.

Through this partnership, MAGA reaffirms its commitment as a leading authority on agricultural policy by actively participating in technical coordination for the project and promoting integrated and sustainable management of natural resources in Guatemala.
