Personnel from the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food (MAGA) recently conducted a livestock vaccination campaign in Petén. The effort was coordinated with the COCODE of Concoma village, located in the municipality of Poptún.
According to MAGA, "During the activity, the Directorate of Agricultural Development (DAGRO) of the Vice Ministry in Charge of Petén Affairs (VIPETÉN), applied vaccines to 600 poultry, 36 pigs and 13 horses. This ensures protection for these species against diseases that can affect productivity and food security for families."
At the same time, another vaccination campaign focused on poultry took place in communities near Valle de la Esmeralda and Caserío Limones in Dolores municipality. These actions are intended to reinforce disease prevention measures in the region.
Producers who benefited from these campaigns also received technical guidance on prophylactic planning. The goal is to improve sanitary management practices and reduce risks associated with disease outbreaks that could impact local livestock production.
