A total of 2,100 tilapia fingerlings were delivered to seven producers in the community of Canahán, located in the municipality of Sayaxché, Petén. The initiative was carried out by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food (MAGA) as part of efforts to support aquaculture in the region.
The event was organized by the Livestock Department of the Directorate for Agricultural Development (DAGRO) under the Vice Ministry for Petén Affairs (VIPETÉN), with technical support from the Directorate for Fisheries and Aquaculture Regulation (DIPESCA).
During the activity, technicians provided guidance on proper fish management and feeding recommendations tailored to each growth stage. The aim was to strengthen production skills among the beneficiaries.
"This action reaffirms the work that MAGA is doing to promote aquaculture production in the region and contribute to the economic development of rural families," stated representatives from MAGA.
