On December 4, 2025, the Ministry posted that "Este plan se desarrollará mediante un trabajo interinstitucional entre: @DGTguate @ProvialOficial @SATGT @DTransitoPNC Lanzamiento: lunes 15 de diciembre de 2025 Finalización: lunes 5 de enero de 2026 Puntos estratégicos en todo el territorio nacional". The announcement details that the plan will be implemented through collaboration between the General Directorate of Traffic (DGT), Provial, SAT, and the National Civil Police's Transit Division (DTransitoPNC). The operation will run from December 15, 2025, to January 5, 2026, with activities focused on strategic points across Guatemala.
In another statement from the same date, the Ministry emphasized its commitment to road safety. "Bajo la firmeza de garantizar la seguridad vial en las carreteras principales, el Viceministro de Transportes, @surianobuezo, presentó el Plan Operativo de Fiestas de Fin de Año “Viaja Seguro y Llega a Tu Destino”." This highlights that the plan is part of broader efforts to protect travelers on main highways during peak travel periods.
Additionally, support for motorists will be provided through Provial. According to a third post on December 4: "Provial brindará acompañamiento y asistencia a los usuarios con: 372 brigadas estratégicas desplegadas en las principales rutas del país Atención inmediata y apoyo vial durante toda la temporada #AlPuebloDignoSeLeResponde #PlanConecta2025". The message outlines that Provial will deploy 372 strategic brigades along key routes to offer immediate assistance throughout the holiday period.
The "Viaja Seguro y Llega a Tu Destino" initiative reflects ongoing efforts by Guatemalan authorities to reduce traffic accidents and ensure public safety during high-traffic times such as national holidays.
