Guatemala has reaffirmed its ban on turtle fishing during the International Commission for the Conservation of Atlantic Tunas (ICCAT) meeting in Seville, Spain. The gathering brings together member countries to discuss conservation and sustainable management of marine species.
The Guatemalan delegation was led by Mayra Motta, Vice Minister of Agricultural Health and Regulations at the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food (MAGA). In her remarks, the delegation emphasized that Guatemala strictly complies with international regulations. "In Guatemala, turtle fishing is not practiced," stated the delegation.
