A new company model clinic of the Instituto Guatemalteco de Seguridad Social (IGSS) was inaugurated at Ingenio Santa Ana in Escuintla. The event included a social security day that provided preventive services to more than 250 employees.

The health initiative offered HIV testing, laboratory exams, and hepatitis A vaccinations. Complete blood counts were performed under the supervision of Israel Jiménez, a biochemist from IGSS.

During the inauguration ceremony, Eva Szaszdi, Human Resources and Sustainability Manager at Ingenio Santa Ana, said: "It is important to create spaces that promote the comprehensive health of workers."

Franco Marcenaro, Director of Hospital de Escuintla, stated: "These types of programs and the contribution of Social Security are beneficial for disease prevention and early care."

Nery Álvarez, an employee at Ingenio Santa Ana, expressed appreciation for the health event and said: "Having clinics nearby strengthens care and well-being for all workers."

Andrés Botrán, President of Grupo Corporativo del Ingenio Santa Ana, commented: "The clinic will be a key benefit for workers by offering first-class medical care that is close and timely. This contributes to the well-being of more than 5,000 operational and administrative employees."

The opening concluded with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a tour of the new facility. With this addition, Ingenio Santa Ana joins the company model clinic plan promoted by IGSS as part of efforts to improve workplace health among its beneficiaries.
