The Universidad del Valle de Guatemala (UVG) recently hosted the seventh edition of its Scientific Fair for Schools, bringing together students from various Guatemalan high schools to present research projects and innovations. The event was organized by the Section of Academic Extension and Entrepreneurship (SEAA-UVG) with support from the UVG Research Institute.
According to organizers, the fair aims to foster critical thinking, curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving skills among high school students. Participants shared knowledge and showcased discoveries that contribute to the future of research and development.
The program began with a presentation titled “Equipo Taq’ Balam – Proyecto del carro ultraeficiente de Shell Eco-marathon,” delivered by engineer Luis Ernesto Núñez and a team of chemical engineering students. Following this talk, student teams exhibited their projects before a panel of judges that included researchers from the UVG Research Institute as well as university deans and directors.
