The Universidad Mesoamericana in Guatemala recently welcomed Father Rafael Bejarano Rivera, SDB, General Counselor for Youth Ministry of the Salesian Congregation. Father Bejarano was received by the university’s Rector, Father Rómulo Gallegos Alvarado, SDB.
During his visit to the central campus in Guatemala City, Father Bejarano observed both educational and pastoral activities at the institution. The visit provided an opportunity for him to learn more about the academic and pastoral projects developed at the university. These initiatives are focused on comprehensive education for young people and strengthening the Salesian mission within higher education.
Rector Gallegos expressed appreciation for Father Bejarano’s presence. "These meetings reaffirm our communion with the Salesian Congregation and motivate us to continue working under Don Bosco's spirit, promoting education with academic quality and a human touch," he said.
Father Bejarano’s visit was described as a time of reflection and enthusiasm for students and staff. It highlighted that Universidad Mesoamericana is committed to integrating reason, religion, and love into its service and social commitment, consistent with Salesian values.
