On September 4, Universidad Panamericana and the Sindicato de Futbolistas Profesionales de Guatemala (SIFUPGUA) signed an agreement aimed at supporting access to higher education for Guatemalan athletes. The collaboration seeks to offer quality educational opportunities and provide athletes with resources to aid their learning and future professional development.
According to the announcement, the partnership intends to encourage, empower, and assist athletes in preparing for careers beyond sports. As a result of this agreement, both institutions plan to organize various joint activities.
The signing ceremony took place at SIFUPGUA's offices. Attendees from SIFUPGUA included executive director Carlos Figueroa and Luis Pedro Molina, administrative director responsible for alliances and benefits. Representing Universidad Panamericana were César Custodio, vice-rector of administration, and Ingrid Rivas, manager of University–Business Relations.
"Ingrid Rivas stated that the alliance is designed to motivate athletes and support them in their professional future." Carlos Figueroa also emphasized the importance of providing tools for learning through this initiative.
