The Ministry of Energy and Mines of Guatemala, led by Minister Víctor Hugo Ventura, shared updates on its official X account regarding recent efforts in technical cooperation and pre-investment for interconnection and rural electrification projects. The ministry highlighted meetings with international partners and public awareness initiatives on energy consumption.

Later that evening, the ministry published an energy-saving tip for consumers: "Muchos aparatos consumen energía aunque estén apagados?

This message addressed "phantom consumption," referring to the electricity used by devices even when turned off.

The Ministry of Energy and Mines is responsible for formulating and implementing policies related to energy and mining in Guatemala. Its activities include promoting sustainable development through partnerships with international organizations such as the European Investment Bank (BEI) and the European Union (EU), as well as national institutions like MINEX (Ministry of Foreign Affairs), MINFIN (Ministry of Finance), and INDE (National Electrification Institute). These collaborations aim to expand access to electricity in rural areas and encourage efficient energy use among citizens.
