Cruz Roja Guatemalteca has trained volunteers from 13 delegations across the country in basic radio communication repair and maintenance. The training, held in Guatemala City, was supported by EU Civil Protection & Humanitarian Aid (European Union in Guatemala).

The program aimed to improve operational communication and emergency response. During the sessions, participants strengthened their knowledge on how to use, maintain, and understand the importance of radios as essential tools for coordination during emergencies and disasters.

In addition to the training, Cruz Roja Guatemalteca installed mobile radios in 13 of its ambulances. This upgrade is expected to enhance communication and efficiency in pre-hospital care.

“Cruz Roja Guatemalteca reaffirms its commitment to modernizing its equipment and continuously training its staff and volunteers, ensuring a faster and more effective response for the Guatemalan population during critical moments,” stated the organization.

These initiatives are part of ongoing efforts by Cruz Roja Guatemalteca to improve disaster preparedness and emergency services throughout Guatemala.
