Cruz Roja Guatemalteca has deployed its response team to assist with a forest fire affecting areas of Sacapulas, Quiché. The organization is supporting local firefighters and carrying out preventive actions in the affected zone.
Due to the spread of the fire and risks to nearby communities, 25 people have been evacuated from vulnerable areas. This operation was conducted in coordination with local authorities and emergency services, focusing on the safety of those at risk.
The Cruz Roja Guatemalteca team remains present in the area for prevention purposes, monitoring the progress of the fire and assisting first response institutions. The organization is also prepared to provide humanitarian aid if needed.
