"The impact was so severe that the motorcyclist suffered multiple traumas that caused immediate death at the scene. Despite the quick response of rescuers, it was not possible to save the victim's life," stated Cruz Roja Guatemalteca.
Local residents noted that this stretch of road is often dangerous due to drivers exceeding speed limits. Witnesses said the motorcyclist lost control before striking the tree.
Authorities secured the area and began an investigation into the cause of the crash. While no official conclusions have been released, excessive speed is believed to be a likely factor.
