Guatemalan Red Cross responds to multi-vehicle accident on RN-14 highway

A traffic accident occurred at kilometer 88 of the RN-14 highway, involving a trailer, a truck, and a pickup. Several people were injured in the collision. The Guatemalan Red Cross responded to the scene along with the National Association of Municipal Departmental Firefighters (ASONBOMD) and Volunteer Firefighters.

Rescue teams worked to free one of the truck occupants who was trapped inside the vehicle. They used hydraulic tools and specialized techniques to carry out the rescue. After being freed, the individual was stabilized on site before being taken to the National Hospital for further medical care.

In addition to this seriously injured person, three adults and a child received medical attention for minor injuries and shock resulting from the crash. The emergency personnel provided stabilization and support at the scene.

The organizations involved emphasized their coordinated response as key in handling such emergencies.
