A blind dog named Charly Bravo was rescued after falling 150 meters down a steep ravine in zone 2 of Guatemala City. The incident took place at 15 Calle Final, 3a. Avenida El Zapote, an area known for its dangerous slopes and rugged terrain.
Charly Bravo was exploring the area when he lost his way and fell into the ravine. Neighbors quickly noticed what had happened and contacted Cruz Roja Guatemalteca for assistance. Due to the challenging conditions, a specialized rescue team was required to ensure the safety of both the animal and the rescuers.
The Cruz Roja Guatemalteca team responded promptly, using ropes, harnesses, and equipment designed for difficult terrain. They carefully descended to reach Charly Bravo. Despite complications due to the dog's blindness, the team managed to calm him before securing him for extraction.
The operation was successful. After being brought out safely, Charly Bravo underwent a quick evaluation that showed no serious injuries. He was then returned to his owners, who expressed gratitude for the team's dedication.
"This event is a reminder of Cruz Roja Guatemalteca's commitment not only to people but also to animals in need during emergencies," said representatives from Cruz Roja Guatemalteca. "Charly Bravo's story is an example of hope and commitment."
