Cruz Roja Guatemalteca president joins international exchange with Puerto Rico

The National President of Cruz Roja Guatemalteca, Annabella Folgar, is participating in an international exchange program in Puerto Rico as part of the Global Twinning Initiative. The visit includes a delegation from Guatemala and aims to strengthen collaboration between National Societies and chapters of the American Red Cross.

According to the organization, the main goal of this program is to support institutional development through sharing experiences and learning from each other. Representatives from both Guatemala and Puerto Rico are exchanging best practices in humanitarian response, institutional strengthening, and capacity building for vulnerable communities.

The Global Twinning Initiative highlights the importance of international cooperation among Red Cross societies. It emphasizes their commitment to innovation and continuous improvement in humanitarian services.

"This type of activity reinforces the vision of the Red Cross as a connected global movement whose purpose is to save lives, promote human dignity, and build resilient communities facing challenges in their local contexts," said a statement from Cruz Roja Guatemalteca.
